How DOMAT Tests and Remanufactures
a Turbocharger

Remanufacturing isn't a clean-and-reassemble job — it's a strip-down, inspect, rebuild and re-test process where every rotating component is treated as suspect until proven otherwise. Here's what actually happens to a core when it comes into our workshop.

1. Intake and Initial Assessment

Every core arriving at the workshop is assessed before anything is stripped down. We check the failure history where known, look for obvious external damage, and confirm the part number and application before deciding whether the core is a viable candidate for rebuild.

2. Full Strip-Down

The unit is completely disassembled — compressor housing, turbine housing, actuator or nozzle ring assembly, and the CHRA itself are separated so every component can be inspected individually rather than judged as a whole.
